To help you get started, here are a few notes you may want to consider when customizing your website to cater to the Asian market:

·Research on the different norms and cultures.- Do not get chained to what you think or believe to be the standard in website design or feature. It is important that you allow room for changes that you might not personally agree with, but are important or valuable to your readers’ culture.

·Identify neutral color schemes.- This doesn't mean leaving your site plain white thinking that you’re playing on the safe side. Colors mean different things to different cultures, believe it or not, and to some regions in Asia, white actually symbolizes death.

·Take time to educate your readers.- It’s important to consider that some of the cultures in markets you want to tap might be a little slow in accepting new ideas. Certain groups in South East Asia (or anywhere else) can be conservative, so be as patient as possible about introducing your products.

·Study the trends in the country or region you want to tap.- Keeping track of changing market trends will help you predict what’s coming and you can adjust your marketing tactics accordingly.

·Although English is spoken worldwide, know that different cultures may have developed different slang terms for English words. For instance, Australian English is still a bit different from how English is used in the United Kingdom. The same goes for Singaporean English. So it's important to be careful with how you use English in different regions.

·Set a proper tone for your articles. What you may consider as merely assertive might be too offensive or intimidating to your reader. Know who you want to talk to and make sure you address them appropriately.

·Localize - Adapting your content is a very important factor for globalizing your business. Do not be afraid to seek professional help from a localization expert to be sure that your audience understands the message you are sending.
